The thing is...

when someone would ask "What are you going to do with Communications after school?" I could simply say, "Oh something with advertising." This despite the fact that I really didn't know what I was going to do with it, and "advertising" is a little broad. Meh, no one really cared. Same with psychology.
"Oh really you're thinking about a major in psychology, huh? What do you want to do with that?"
"Oh I was thinking some kind of family or child therapy."
"Oh neat, yeah you can do a lot with psychology!"
"I know! It's great!"

But you know what? If you want to do something worthwhile with psychology you have to go to GRAD SCHOOL. I don't want to go to grad school.

I mean, I'm not ruling it out, if I find that I need to go to grad school, okay. I will suck up and do it and hope I'm not in too much debt by the end of it.
And that I'm still on good enough terms with the idea of "school" to send my children to one.

Animal science majors need grad school a little less than psychology majors, and I would be totally stoked to manage a barn. CALL ME CRAZY.

The fact of the matter is... When people say "Animal science?? What do you want to do with THAT?", (not sure if that was even close to proper punctuation just there) I say, "Well... weeeellll.... I don't know... I just, sort of, want to learn about it..." I guess I could say, "Well I want to spend my time as a barn manager or teaching kids to ride horses because quite frankly I don't want to be the main source of income in my household but I realize that life really doesn't turn out the way we hope it does especially where money is concerned so could you please stop freaking me out about the fact that my future is uncertain? Thanks. I will take what I can get. Please don't encourage me to change my major AGAIN."

I don't say that though, because I know people don't mean to freak me out. Or, I hope they don't. I would be out of breath by the time I finished anyway, who wants that?
Not me.

Dear supportive family who are the main readers of my blog, aside from a few select friends whom (was that correct use of the word "whom"?) I appreciate:
Thank you for letting me vent. I promise the next post on here won't have anything about horses or cows or animal science.

Love, me.

Happy Halloween!

If I could do it all over again, I would major in How To Cluck Like A Chicken.

I'm all for posts about horses. There is an organization here that has kids with disabilities working with horses. It's pretty cool.

You could do a double major!

my major was family history for 2 1/2 years . . . so . . . i'm not the best to give advice on majors. i'm so glad that you love your horse classes, though. :)
