in my Origins of the Universe class we learned that once the liquid iron in the core of the earth cools down sufficiently, the earth will lose its magnetic field and then solar winds from the sun will blow away our atmosphere.
Guys! Why is everyone so worried about global warming?!

It's no longer 'global warming'; the correct term is 'climate change'.

and to think my boys are worried about a black hole sucking up the earth . . . :)
